Affiliate Marketing Strategies #22 – Build Adsense Sites and #23 – Increase Google Adsense Click-Thru-Rates (CTR)

 Build Adsense Sites and

Google Adsense is a great income model if you hate worrying about converting traffic into affiliate sales. The idea is simple.  You create content around a specific topic. Then you embed contextual advertising (like Google Adsense) into these articles.

You make money every time somebody clicks on an ad.  This can be as high as a few dollars per click. When you do the math, these clicks can add up to a substantial amount of income If you’re getting thousands of page views each day.

One way to profit from Google Adsense is to build a series of small, niche- specific websites. Each laser-targets a topic and ranks for specific keyword phrases. People will click on ads because they will be directly related to what they want.

Now, I know there are literally thousands of paid products for Adsense. But the most useful information I’ve found is a blog post by Lisa Irby: How to Make Money with Adsense.

Lisa gives specific examples, case studies and videos about making money with Adsense. In addition, she provides a completely free (ie: no opt-in) ebook on this subject.

I’d start with her site if you’re interested in Google Adsense.

Increase Google Adsense Click-Thru-Rates (CTR)

One more thing about Google Adsense…

You’d be surprised at how often a few simple tweaks can double, even triple your earnings.

For instance, back in 2005 I made a full-time income from Google AdsenseI’ve since moved on to revenue streams; but I still remember the importance of ad position in relation to web content. At one point; I averaged a 25% click thru ad; which produced a nice income; despite my low number of ‘page views.’

Now, Google Adsense has changed a lot of their rules in the last few years. So what I “know” about this income model has probably changed. The important take-away is to track ad positions and tweak ad styles till you get (at least) a 15% click-thru rate.

The best way to take action on this is to use a content management system (CMS) like WordPress to host your Google Adsense site.

WordPress offers a variety of plugins that automatically insert ads. Use one of these tools to instantly test and tweak different ad styles.
